Happy New Year!!! 2012 will be an exciting year for the Colorado ACOFP. As we get ready to take our delegates and student delegates to Orlando for convention, the local office at CSOM is working on some upcoming events for our Chapter.

First, it is one of the goals of my Presidency to reach out to members across the state, involve them more in the Chapter, and find out their concerns as Family Physicians in Colorado. We are going to be hosting small meet and greet events, as well as, try our hands at technology based meetings by utilizing Skype to talk some of our members on the Western Slope. The first event will be held in Denver and will be in the form of a casual cocktail reception. We are hoping to put this on our April calendar and will be in touch with our Denver members when a date has been chosen.

Secondly, our Chapter has teamed up with the CSOM Summer CME to officially sponsor “Family Practice Day” at the 2012 Summer CME in Breckenridge, CO. “FP Day” will be held Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Beaver Run Conference Center. I and President-Elect Joseph Stasio, DO will be moderating the sessions, the Annual ACOFP Business Meeting will be held at lunch, and there will be a cocktail reception sponsored by us that evening. We are looking for Family Physicians who are Colorado ACOFP members to speak that day. Saturday, August 11th marks the ACSOM’s 10th Annual Golf Tournament to benefit their scholarship program. ACOFP would love for our members to participate in that as well. Watch for details!!
